Meat Department Supervisor

Progressive Distributors Ltd. is seeking to fill the position of Meat Department Supervisor. This role requires the willingness and the ability to work in a fast-paced, frozen or refrigerated warehouse environment for extended periods. Key responsibilities include but are not limited to: lead and supervise the Meat Department; ensure operational excellence; cut and prepare meat according to customer specifications using equipment such as meat saws, grinders, slicers, and tenderizers; ensure compliance with HACCP and food safety standards; train and mentor team members on company systems and processes. The successful candidate must possess a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Must be punctual, honest, reliable, and hardworking.

Salary range: CI$35,000.00-43,410.00 per annum commensurate with experience. An attractive benefits package (including medical insurance, vacation, pension, birthday off with pay, sick payout bonus) is being offered to the qualified candidate. Hours of operation: from 6:00pm Sunday through 5:00pm Saturday Scheduled minimum weekly hours: 40

Mandatory requirements

• Must have at least 5-7 years professional experience in the wholesale or retail meat industry.
• Must have proven supervisory experience with strong leadership skills.
• Must have comprehensive knowledge of all meat cuts and cutting specifications based on the US Meat Food Service Buyers Guide.
• Must be able to cut meat to customer specifications and operate equipment such as meat cutting saw, grinder, tenderizer and slicer.
• Must be trained and knowledgeable in HACCP and food safety systems.
• Must be physically fit and be able to lift an average of 60 lbs. unassisted.
• Must be able to work flexible hours, day shifts, night shifts, weekends, holidays and overtime as schedule requires.
• Must be willing to process and learn Company systems taught by Manager.
• Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Qualifications

• Must have at least a High School Degree or equivalent.

Preferable

• Knowledge in operating the forklift.
